Automatic number plate Software (ANPR) is now available to HOAs and homeowners in the US, thanks to AI technology that is bringing down the barrier to entry of licence plate recognition software. HOA ANPR is designed specifically for organisations that are looking to reduce crime and parking violations on their properties by identifying vehicles with licence plates or with an expired registration sticker. More traditional technology has been used for years by law enforcement agencies across the world, but it’s only recently become available to private organisations like HOAs and homeowners due to the lower costs involved.
HOA ANPR (which stands for Homeowner Association – Automatic Number Plate Recognition) is designed specifically for organisations that are looking to reduce crime and parking violations on their properties by identifying vehicles without license plates or with expired registration stickers.
The system first captures images of passing cars via dash-mounted cameras or smartphones; then these are matched against an international database of the vehicle registration information that is updated in real-time (and currently holds over 80 million records). In less than a second, HOA ANPR can identify if a car belongs at your property – so you know who should be there and when they should have left!
Multiple users can now use the same cloud-based applications which enable colleagues to communicate easily between shifts about vehicles that have been violating parking requirements and also finding abandoned vehicles for example.
Another advantage of using AI as a recognition tool over the old-fashioned OCR standard that the police use is that it also classifies vehicles by registered State, make, model, colour, age and other features of the vehicle. This enables the home and organisation body to also collect statistical information about their estate.
HOA ANPR has been developed with the homeowner in mind; providing an easy way to record who drives into your property or when they should have left.
Aeroranger is one such tool that enables home in the organisation parking ranges to easily identify the status of any vehicle whilst out on patrol. If a vehicle is found that requires a new status this can be easily added to the database via the phone application. When the vehicle is ever found again by anyone within the team a voice notification is read out to alert the person that is close by.
In addition to the ANPR and Aeroranger, Homeowner organisations also have access to a wide range of Automatic number plate software options other tools that will help them in their day-to-day routine.
· Automatic number plate software – making life easier for homeowners organisations
· HOA parking management system – allocating spaces and providing updates on availability as well as helping with enforcement by identifying any cars parked outside paid zones
· Parking patrol vehicle tracker – GPS tracking of your team’s vehicles so you know where they are at any time. This is useful when patrolling or checking specific areas within an estate.”
Due to the high accuracy of AI ANPR, as opposed to the old standards, alongside additional sensors such as GPS and also timestamps, the Aeroranger platform is now being adopted for simple daily tasks such as digital-chalking of parked vehicles.
“One of the main drivers for digital parking enforcement is to reduce congestion. Parking restrictions are in place so that people can park their vehicles and then move about freely, without having to circle looking for space,” said Adam Cooper from Aeroranger Systems Ltd.
“Digital-chalking allows our teams to first identify available spaces which have been allocated by an organisation’s HOA or management system – allocating spaces and providing updates on availability as well as helping with enforcement by identifying any cars parked outside paid zones.”
Aeroranger delivers fully automated parking control systems using ANPR cameras combined with other sensors such as GPS tracking and timestamps, offering ‘click-and-collect type convenience.
“Our aim is to simply make the level of adoption very quick for our clients. Often they are up and running within a few hours of signing up and are communicating with their colleagues in real-time. We let our product do the talking by offering a free 14 day trial with unlimited vehicle scans” said John Colebrook CEO of Aeroranger.
“One of the most important things to us is that we are continually innovating. We have a team of engineers who work on research and development, so if there’s something new happening out in the market or an advancement in technology then they’re looking at how it can be used,” said Colebrook
“Aeroranger has helped over 200 homeowners organisations around the UK, USA and Australia with enforcement by identifying any cars parked outside paid zones through its Automatic number plate software,” he continued. “The company offers bespoke packages for home owners’ associations including free trials, ongoing technical support and regular updates.”
